As we speak, the Gelorup Wildlife Corridor in WA is being bulldozed, and time is running out to stop the critically endangered Ringtail Possum from dissapearing forever.

Please write to the Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek and urge her to protect our threatened species and stop the destruction of the Gelorup Corridor.

I’m one of 20,000 people who have signed Robynne’s petition, Change.org/SaveGelorup, calling for the government to urgently stop the clearing of the Gelorup Corridor in WA.
 
There are colonies of critically endangered Ringtail Possums that will almost certainly die during the clearing operations. This is unjustifiable considering there is an alternative route through cleared farmland less than 500 meters away.

I urge you to consider this alternative route, which will prevent the needless destruction of precious endangered species and native bushland while also allowing a safer highway to be built.
 
Thank you for recognising the deep and systemic failings in the EPBC Act identified by Professor Samuel in his report. Please demonstrate your government's commitment to the environment by ordering a halt to clearing in Gelorup, pending a reconsideration of the protection plan for the Western Ringtail Possums and applying the precautionary principle required in the EPBC act.
 
Critically Endangered means that this species may be extinct within the next two years. Please don’t let this happen to our beloved wildlife.
