"I am one of a group of Vietnam War era national servicemen whose lives were significantly impacted by being conscripted into military service. Fifty years later, we continue to be denied any support from the Australian Government. We call ourselves Nashos.

Many of us are still carrying mental and physical problems resulting from our service, despite not making it to Vietnam. Our lives were put on hold for our two years of service, as we were prepared for war through brutal and de-humanising training, under the ever present threat of being sent to Vietnam.

All we are asking for is that we Nashos are provided a Department of Veteran Affairs Gold Health Card. This is the card that our fellow national servicemen, who went to Vietnam, received when they turned 70.  We feel this would be fair compensation and a great comfort as we enter old age.

Email Veterans' Affairs Minister

In the September sitting week, I took the petition to Federal Parliament House where it was tabled in the Senate. I met many MPs and Senators including Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Matt Keogh.

Please send him an email thanking him for his time and support.
