We are writing to you as the friends & family of Will Mainprize and Lukas Orda, the Australian nationals who are still missing along with 38 other crew members of the Gulf Livestock 1 after its sinking in the East China Sea on September 2.

We are devastated to hear that the search for the missing crew members was stopped last night.

As parents we implore and you to assist us in getting this search resumed to provide some closure and answers to this tragedy that is affecting our own nationals.

Japanese coast guards have called off full-time search of the missing crew of the Gulf Lifestock One ship. Families and friends of the missing people are devastated by this news.

We are running out of time to save Will Mainprize (AU), Lukas Orda (AU), Lochie Bellerby & Scott Harris (NZ) together with 36 Filipino crew.

Dear Senator Payne,

I'm one of the 20,000+ people who are standing by the families of Lukas Orda and William Mainprize, the missing Australians from the capsized livestock ship off the coast of Japan. We urgently request you to please immediately contact your Japanese counterpart and ask they resume the full-time search of the missing crew.

Australians are known for helping innocent people & providing humanitarian aid. This is another example, and the government needs to act today & resume the search for 40 missing men in the East China Sea.

We’re hopeful that the Australian & New Zealand governments co-operate with the Japanese government to combine resources to urgently save the lives of Will Mainprize (AU), Lukas Orda (AU), Lochie Bellerby (NZ) & Scott Harris together with 36 Filipino crew.

We understand from the last found survivors testimony (via the Australian Consular Emergency Centre) that all crew except three were on-deck, in life jackets, preparing to enter life vessels. To date, there are still 40 crewmembers, 1 lifeboat & 4 auto-deployed life rafts – with food & water – still in the East China Sea vicinity, unaccounted for.

The Australian & New Zealand governments must act immediately, in conjunction with the Japanese government, to continue the search.

The lives of 40 men are critically at stake.

Please, help bring them home.
